The Aurora Centre’s ‘Care to Run’ event 2012 will take place on Sunday 9th September at 11.00am at Sandall Park, Doncaster. (warm up 10.45am)

Carolyn Hodgson from Yorkshire TV will present trophies for the fastest male and fastest female runners. Entries are £3 per person or £10 for a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 children) which includes a certificate and medal.

The proceeds of the event will go to the Aurora Centre, a local charity with the aim of improving the quality of life for cancer patients. The Aurora Centre is a unique venture based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Montagu Hospital, Mexborough. It offers a package of free beauty and complementary therapy treatments to local cancer patients, both men and women.

Lynne Rothwell, Chair of the Aurora Centre said: “The Aurora Centre was created to help patients who have had a diagnosis of cancer to feel better about themselves and to improve their lives. It has been recognised that improving a person’s sense of well-being will dramatically improve their chances of overcoming their illness. Self-esteem and self-confidence are boosted whilst undergoing and recovering from related cancer treatments.”
