"Your Life to Live"

aurora logoAurora is a community Charity set up 9 years ago in South Yorkshire. Our aim is to support and help people who have been diagnosed with cancer to face the world with confidence, when they may be experiencing the most difficult time of their lives. Over the years, we have listened carefully to what our patients have told us about how they feel about having a cancer diagnosis, so we set out to make that journey more manageable.

 

About Us

Aurora—which means a new dawn in Italian— opened at Mexborough Montagu five years ago but the concept started in 2002 when a group of cancer patients, including founder member the late Valerie Lepedat, together with the support of Lynne Rothwell, the then General Manager for Surgery they campaigned for a beauty room at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

The group asked for somewhere to get advice and a bit of pampering to make the experience more personable.
