Welcome to Our Unique Venture

 

Here at the Aurora Centre our aim is to improve the the quality of life for cancer patients. The Aurora Centre has been created to help patients who have had a diagnosis of cancer to feel better about themselves.  It has been  recognised that improving a person's sense of well-being will dramatically improve their chances of overcoming their illness.
 

To help boost the self esteem and self confidence whilst undergoing and recovering from related treatments of cancer,  the centre offers a wide range of professional beauty therapy treatments including advice on skin care, hair loss etc.

The Aurora Centre is unique at the moment as there is nothing else like it in the country, at present!   We are a registered charity and are supported by the Doncaster and Bassetlaw  Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. 

Initially funded by a grant from a local benefactor, our services are free of charge but we are dependent upon donations.  We hold many fund raising events, which we try to ensure are a celebration of life and an opportunity to tell people about our ground breaking and unique venture.

GETTING BIGGER AND BETTER

Although originally based within Doncaster Royal Infirmary,  we were able to open a new centre in Mexborough Montagu Hospital where we can offer the same facilities as at Doncaster, so our patients have a choice of where they receive their treatment, irrelevant of where they live.

We offer expert techniques including  beauty therapy to improve body image for female and male patients suffering from the effects of cancer and the side effects of  its treatment. Pamper days, Therapeutic Massage, Head Strong, Skin Care and Make-up advice and Reflexology.
