Aurora volunteers, including Dorothy Logan (sister of Aurora’s co-founder, Val Lepadat), welcomed Doncaster’s Civic Mayor, Cllr Eddie Dobbs, a variety of local stallholders and over 200 people to yesterday’s Christmas Shopping Fayre at Pastures Lodge, Mexborough. Locally produced Christmas gifts for sale included crafts, jewellery, accessories, beauty products and plants. “There was a lovely atmosphere and it was nice to see so many local people supporting the event,” says Aurora volunteer, Maureen Sampson. “Thank you to everyone for helping to raise over £500 for Aurora Wellbeing Charity.”

A Doncaster quad raced in the Boston Rowing Marathon to raise £772 for Aurora Wellbeing Charity. They rowed in memory of Denise Honey, a Doncaster rowing club member, who benefited from the local cancer charity’s services.
Crew members John Hutchinson, Ian Yates, Brian Oliphant & Rick Rolt rowed the 31 mile course on the River Witham between Lincoln and Boston (UK) on 3 September. Despite severe weather conditions, the team finished in a very respectable four hours and 50 minutes.
Mike Honey is very proud of his late wife’s friends for supporting Aurora in her memory.
